About Us

Mercedonius is an independent media entity that publishes a family of algorithmically curated news aggregator platforms collectively known as the XIII Network. We surface reporting from hundreds of established news sources across seven global regions — without editorial bias or commercial influence. The name comes from the Roman Republican calendar's 13th month, inserted when the official calendar had drifted too far from reality.

No. Mercedonius does not produce original journalism. We are a news aggregator — we collect, index, and surface publicly available RSS feeds from established news organisations, wire services, and specialist publications. Every article on our platforms was written by a third-party journalist and published by a third-party outlet. We link to the original source; we do not reproduce content.

The XIII Network

Currently three publications are live: XIII News (global, seven regions), XIII Media (Canada, national and provincial), and XIII Press (Arabic-language, MENA region). Additional publications — including XIII Voice and XIII Independent — are in development.

Yes. All XIII Network publications are free to access. We do not require registration, subscriptions, or accounts of any kind. The news is open; we simply make it easier to find.

Content & Sources

All content is sourced from publicly available RSS feeds published by established news organisations, wire services, national broadcasters, and specialist publications. We do not scrape websites or reproduce content — we index RSS feeds and link directly to the original article at the original publisher's website.

Our feeds refresh automatically every five minutes. Breaking news sections update continuously. The most recent articles always appear at the top of each section.

Legal & Copyright

Mercedonius aggregates publicly available RSS feeds. RSS is a standard web syndication format that publishers use specifically to make their content indexable and shareable. We display only what the RSS feed exposes — headline, summary, and link — and we always link back to the original source. We do not store, reproduce, or host full article text or images.

Technical

Yes. We welcome both. Use the contact form and select Other as the subject. Describe the feature or bug as specifically as possible — what you expected to see, what you actually saw, and which publication and section it occurred on.

Still have a question? We read everything sent to our address and respond to all substantive enquiries.
